The price has fallen to around 10-20k, the price before the finale last year, so it's not as bad if you buy for anything more than 10-20k then your have cash to waste.

BTW I always knew Pigs domianted the economy, pigs being rich people who pay a lot to be the first to have new stuff, raising the price of items (to unreasonable amounts) so people with less money can't get it right away.

Pigs and Rats the economy is domianted by vermin, BRING ON THE TIGERS AND DRAGONS!!

AND NIAN!!!!

Nah, it's just pure ignorance.
Players with 3+ active characters don't have a lobby among Anet's designers. Since NF we are supposed to have 1 or 2 characters, 1pvp slot and several mules. (a guildmate who has only one pve char has a mule full of piggies..)
Single character grind is endorsed by all actions of the design team.

Personally, i'm waiting for Mythos and if it's good enough it's QQ+ByeBye GW franchise.

I worked on Mythos!

Not sure if I see it replacing anyone's GW or WoW addiction, but hey, I could be wrong, and it was a lot of fun building things to match the groovy, colorful aesthetic.

I think I have about 4 pigs in storage - I kept 1 for each of my mains.
I'm not sure what to do with them now - sell or trade to collector.
I only kept them at the time because I remembered that you only normally get mini's at birthdays and I did not want to spend money on buying more.
I was pleased when the HoM had space for mini's - I thought I might fill up any shortfalls with pigs but I was in no rush and so far have not dedicated any mini's

I don't consider myself greedy - maybe a bit of a hoarder - but thats my perogative
we are all given the same storage space and we can all choose what we use it for.

I expect ANET can very easily audit storage and have come across many people like myself with multiple pigs just sitting there and have decided the numbers add up enough to try to change the number of pigs in the economy - They have in mind a figure of reducing these sitting around pigs. If most people are like me then the trade in will be 4 to 1. If enough people have held onto 10 minipigs the ration will be 10 pigs for 1 new whatever

I guess i can understand why they are doing this, from reading how many mini pigs people actually have, its flooding!! looks like a way to get rid of them all to bring it back down or something. The prices for these new pets will probably be ridiculous, it always is, people want to be the first to get something so they will pay lots. Give it a few weeks and the price of these new minis will drop.

Pretty much; the distribution was extremely uneven due to low droprate before finale, and immense droprate during. In a nutshell those who attended/went AFK during last years finale got multiple pigs, and those who did not attend the finale didn't get any. This year they try to avoid this uneven distribution by increasing droprate before finale, and not giving out minipets during finale. Which is good, I guess.

Thing is, I don't see how this was a problem which needed correcting by adding a minipig-sink. The only reason to do so is to increase the price of the minipig, and I seriously can not see why ANet feels it necessary or desirable to do so? Why is ANet trying to increase the price of the minipig?

If ANet really thinks that the most pressing problem in PvE right now is to help people free up storage space by raising the price of minipigs over their 1-2K selling price so they're "worth selling"... Well, damn, aren't they out of touch.

You know ... i actually hoped for this event to flood market with super cheap minipets. Was it so bad that one mini was so common to become simple token of goodwill: gift you would give to stranger that was not so lucky to be online during festival? Bad enough that some gold colored mini was comon so that they needed to fix it?

Having 10 characters, i would not mind couple of rats for couple of HoMs

In fact, i would welcome if every single player got rat (and pig) for each character they have.

Very easily answered - this game is now focussed on minipets and titles.

Weapons, with very few exceptions, are now pretty cheap. With the exception of tormented weapons, I haven't seen anything over 100k in a long time. Even the new design-a-weapon additions won't stay high priced very long.

There is a wide variety of armor in the game but with no new expansions what we have is all there is likely to ever be.

New quests, missions and explorable areas take a lot of time and money to design and so we have seen the last of them - except maybe in the form of future BMPs.

the only new things, because they are easy to produce and implement, are titles and minipets (two things which, coincidentally, have almost nothing to do with actually playing the game) Soooo....expect them to continue to rise in price and expect ANet to waste lots more time fiddling around with them - trying to adjust the "pet economy".

Minipets are now the whole point of the game.

Hey, I think minipets are cute too, but come on, I bought Guild Wars not Sim-zoo.

Most people gave away or sold their Mini-pigs or at least most of them. I have a few left but will probably end up giving them to guildmates who destroyed theirs. I only kept the couple I have because I have multiple characters doing HoM - so far only one is doing mini-pets though.

Default Gaggle of...

For those WTB a group of mini pigs, I found this list:

A group of pigs is referred to as drove, litter, drift, flock, hoggery, herd, sounder

Example: "wtb - hoggery of mini pigs 100k + 200e"

lol...this is sad.

Remember last year people were buying the Mini-Pigs for 50k each. That hit 2k in a few weeks, might happen again with the item you receive when you trade them in.
I'm playing it safe and won't be buying any Pigs, really though I'm down-tuning on GW so it doesn't bother me.

You clearly use "interwebz lingo" in your first post on the matter.

Also, you say that Anet is "lazy" because they use the same hat. They aren't giving out the Lion Mask at the event Finale as pointed out in my Gaile quotes earlier.

You go on to say that...

I proved your wrong with this statement with my Gaile quotes above which indeed state that we get a second chance to get the Lion Mask and that second chance isn't the finale. And I also pointed out with the Gaile quotes that we get a "special item" from the finale which is "new this year".

Now if we go back to your last post and the first one we can cleary see your contradict yourself by saying that Anet is giving us the same hat as last year for the finale(first post) and then you go on to imply that you always knew that they were giving out a "special item".

So in conclusion, you didn't read those two Gaile quotes I made, because if you did then you wouldn't have come to Guru calling Anet "lazy".
Is there a reason you're making such a huge deal out of this? Jeez calm yourself down, I mean I know the internet is serious business and all but c'mon already. Get over yourself. I did indeed know about the special item because I read the gaile chat before it was even posted on guru. I also remember you saying in previous posts that I "couldn't" read not "didnt". Just let it die already, this isn't the place.
